Year 2

What the JW Foundation looks for in scholarship recipients: First and foremost we want to see effort. Anybody can fill out an application and get it turned in. Not everybody is going to take the time to put real effort into it. Those who do put the effort will be those who go on to be successful people and contributing citizens to our society. Those who put the effort are those who go on to college and give it their best no matter what. Effort show us they will appreciate this money more than the others. We want hard working young adults representing Cooke County and the JW Foundation. We refuse to judge based on parents income. A kid should not be punished because his parents make too much money, yet they had the best overall application. Need is definitely a consideration in our decision as well. Our goal is to give the opportunity financially to those who can't afford it. BUT, just because there is a need does not make them entitled to this money and we will stick to our number 1 factor in deciding and that is EFFORT! Congratulations to those who won, we look forward to seeing you Saturday March 25th at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Cooke County. Tickets still must be purchased to attend. $5 for students and $20 for adults.
